TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE

HOW USING POSITIVE LANGUAGE CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE

When I talk about positive language, I’m talking about focussing on the good vibes. I’m talking about choosing uplifting words, words that encourage, motivate, and spread that sunshine feeling. It’s about flipping the script and instead of saying “I can’t do this,” you flip it to become “I’ll give it a try!”

When you swop out rainy day feels for sunshine smiles everything just feels better. When you use positive language, you’re not just boosting your own mood, but you are also spreading good vibes to everyone around you, and creating that ripple effect. So the benefits of using positive language can impact more than just yourself, and who doesn't like to make others feel better about themselves...

Using uplifting language and positive communication will make you feel so much better inside. When I tell you that using positive language can change your life, I speak from personal experience, and believe me when I say that the impact can be incredible.

When I became homeless I very quickly hit rock bottom, and my mindset had turned into pure negativity and negative language. I knew that if I stood any chance of making it out the other side of that mindset tunnel, I would have to change the internal language I was using.

I started to find positives in each day, smiling even when I didn’t feel like it, and changing the way I spoke about my current living situation. I became more approachable, built new relationships, and started to feel less embarrassed, and more confident. After all, it wasn’t my fault that I was homeless.

The impact of using positive language is so obvious once you get into the swing of it. When you talk to yourself and others in a positive way it can help reduce stress, and make your days feel much brighter. Plus, most people love being around someone who is always throwing out the good vibes.

So, how do you practice this every day? Start by catching yourself when you’re being negative, and flip it around. Learning a new skill for example, don’t say “I’m terrible at this” when things aren’t going right, say “I’m learning and getting better.”

Pay people compliments, even complete strangers, and smile at people you pass in the street. I love nothing more than complimenting a stranger, and I try and do this every day. It costs nothing to put a smile on a face, and it can change that whole day for the other person.

Surround yourself with positivity, listen to uplifting music, follow inspiring people on social media, and spend time with friends and family who make you smile.

So, keep spreading those good vibes, and see how much it transforms your world. Stay chill, and keep riding those waves of positivity. Until next time...

With gratitude,

Natalia x
